The Internet sure has made my retirement life a lot sweeter! Sure there are ups and downs, but that shouldn’t come as any surprise for anyone that has lived as long as I have. The old standby programs I have been getting paid from for many years are a nice foundation to build on and there are new things to learn every time I open my browser.

There are usually no guarantees in life, but as far as the Internet goes I can give you one Rock Solid Iron Clad Guarantee, if you sit back and do nothing, your experience here is not going to change.

Turn It Off!

If you have been trying to earn online, do you keep getting frustrated over the FLOOD of pure unadulterated garbage you are subjected to at every turn? Not only the blatant lies, hype and insults to our intelligence, but the failure for many would be marketers to realize the futility in what they are doing (current company excepted) so they just keep throwing mud on the wall thinking some will stick! It’s easy to feel overwhelmed at times, isn’t it?

That’s why my latest brainstorm was to create a PDF file to provide my referrals that they can print out and hand to their own prospects to explain what we are doing, without depending on free online advertising that seldom gets read. It helps that each of us only needs to find a couple of referrals, so massive exposure is unnecessary.

You can get a free copy of Open Office and type one up in a couple of hours, then change the links for each of the referrals you want to give it to. It works!

Not only do you avoid all the clamor that often drives people away from even reading the ads, but it adds a personal touch that can often make the difference. It has been a surprise to talk to people and learn that they are indeed searching for ways to beat the problems in today’s economy, but they were scared away from the Internet and all the obvious (and not so obvious) scams promoted here. You get more exercise too!

Something to think about!

More Breadcrumbs

One of my primary concepts is to scatter breadcrumbs online everywhere I can. Think about this, if you wanted to catch some birds (this is just an analogy) would you run through a field waving a blanket in the air to knock one down, or scatter some breadcrumbs in a corner and wait for them to come around?

It sure has worked for me and continues to work every day. I have one video I posted over three years ago that is still bringing in contacts on YouTube and I have a lot more experience now than when I first joined and posted that one. It’s a breadcrumb paradise.

The plan I have is to find as many other people interested in making money online and invite them as friends as well as subscribe to their channel. Of course the natural reaction is for them to check out my channel, where I have links to my ventures mixed in with valuable tutorials I made.

Then go about leaving good comments wherever you can, being selective toward people you want to notice you. In just a few minutes a day, you can add several comments that serve as breadcrumbs and check out a few new potential contacts. The good part is, I get more personal comments back than I ever did on Twitter if you factor in the effort expended.

Lead, Follow or Move Aside

Nothing I am doing is earth shaking, but has served me well and boils down to a few basic concepts. I have learned over the years that everything you try does NOT need to be a success to add value. In fact, if you try 10 things and lose $100 on each one, then find something that pays $1,000 a month for a few months, is that not a jackpot?

The other main concept I try to follow is get out in front. If you can teach someone ONE thing they didn’t know, you can be perceived as a leader and cultivate a following. In Alaska they say, “If you’re not the lead dog, the view is always the same”.

So it all comes down to do something, even if it’s wrong. Like a ship at sea, you course can always be corrected once you are underway, but spinning the wheel while you are tied up at the dock is not going to do much good.

So that’s how I make my millions and I bet the same concepts would go a long way toward helping anyone who wants to add to their online income. Don’t push and shove, just lead the way.

Blogging

Here I am with yet another blog. I have been reading how important it is to have one with your own name on it, so it made sense to follow up and do it. I recently came up with an idea to help bloggers who simply don’t have time to read long posts by making this a Blog Digest with condensed ideas on blogging.

Just for your information, next month will begin the 9th decade I have lived in, so simple is in.

The same is true of my agenda which is being simplified more every day.  I have no interest in being committed (tied down) enough to run a business online, I just want extra money to play with. That’s what you will find here, quick ideas that take very little time and ways to make it grow.

I hope to provide enough value that you will want to subscribe to my feed and Feedburner makes that easy for everyone, feed readers, email or pony express.
